This course looks into the preventative maintenance of the distribution system, along with testing that should be completed before selecting the best method for minimizing the effects of corrosion. We will also address common distribution issues along with troubleshooting of the system.
7:30 am – 8:00 am – Registration
8:00 am – 9:00 am - A good program of corrosion control will optimize the disinfection process and the dissolution of metals such as iron and lead, which can cause aesthetic and health problems for the customer.
9:00 am – 9:10 am – Break
9:10 am – 10:10 am – Optimal (best of most favorable) Corrosion Control Treatment, optimum dosage of Poly-Orthophosphate, optimum dosage of Zinc-Orthophosphate, optimum calcium harness adjustment. Water Quality Analysis and Coupon testing to identify the best Blend of these products for your distribution system.
10:10 am – 10:20 am – Break
10:20 am – 11:20 am - Start your flushing program, holding your first planning meeting and who to invite, who to notify and how to notify them and laying out your flushing plan and carry it through.
11:20 am – 11:30 am – Break
11:30 am – 12:30 pm – We will cover common distribution issues along with troubleshooting of the system. The review will include disinfection by-products, chloramines, taste and odor issues, system flushing and flushing safety.
