Basic Drinking Water Distribution System O&M

Operation and maintenance of water distribution systems is one of the critical barriers used to protect our drinking water supplies from contamination. Keeping our water supplies safe protect customers from waterborne disease outbreaks that could result in illness or possible fatalities in extreme circumstances. This short course will expand on the importance and some basic maintenance practices.

 Class topics Include:

-Hydrants and valves
-Water main and service materials
-Emergency repairs
-Sampling Techniques
-Storage tanks
-Reporting requirements
-Maintenance practices
