(HRWA) will be interviewing candidates for operation of its 1.9
MGD water treatment facility in Port Austin, Michigan.
One full time and two part time positions are under
consideration. Prior experience and at least an MiDEQ F-2
license is required for the full time operator position and an
F-4 license for the part time position(s).
Administrative, accounting, mechanical and leadership
skills will also be considered .
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR
–
The City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking resumes from versatile,
energetic, team-oriented and mechanically skilled individuals to
join its Wastewater Department team.
The Wastewater treatment plant is operated and maintained by
six state licensed Wastewater Treatment Operators and a Wastewater
Treatment Plant Supervisor.
The department operates utilizing a team philosophy and
values the contributions of each individual team member.
The work schedule of this
full-time Wastewater Treatment Operator vacancy is Wednesday through
Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Qualifications include demonstrated mechanical and/or
electrical skills and a high school diploma.
Computer skills and an aptitude for science/chemistry
preferred. Valid
Michigan Driver’s License and a safe driving record required.
Following hire, attainment of a Michigan Department of
Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Class D License within one MDEQ testing
cycle is required. To be eligible to test, an employee must have
worked a minimum of 2,080 hours in the wastewater treatment plant.
Testing is conducted by the MDEQ in May of each year.
The 2009 starting base
wage is $15.75/hr. (start step) to $16.47/hr. (1 year step)
depending on qualifications. 2010
top base pay is $18.12/hr. (2 year step).
Top base pay is received after one or two years of
employment, depending on the rate of pay received upon hire.
The hourly rate of pay is increased by procurement of MDEQ
state licenses: (2010
hourly rate) D-$1.96/hr.; C-$2.42/hr.; B-$3.06/hr.; A-$3.71/hr.
Licenses are non-cumulative.
Wage and license rates are increased annually in accordance
with the Union Agreement.

Process Timeline:
Selected applicants will
undergo qualification testing in basic chemistry and electrical, as
well as math and mechanical skills. Such testing is tentatively
scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2009.
Not all applicants tested will receive an interview.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for November 4 and 5.

SENIOR LEVEL WATER PLANT OPERATOR NEEDED
Village
of Holly
is seeking a Senior Level Water Plant Operator employed by the
Department of Public Works. Position requires the operation and
maintenance of water filter plant and community wells. Must be able
to test and analyze water quality to meet local and state water
purity requirements. Capable to install, operate, repair water
meters, pumps, motors, filters and other electrical and mechanical
components of the water system. Other duties may include snow
plowing, mowing, landscaping, and cement work.
Minimum qualification and licensing requirements
of D-1 & D-2 Treatment Plant Operator and License, S-2 Distribution
System Certificate and 2 years municipal water delivery system
experience.
